Awards
Ribbons will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in sub-categories with more than a dozen entries. Some subcategories may be combined at the organizer’s discretion. Last year we gave out 33 ribbons!
Best of Show
We’re so stoked about our Best of Show prize package this year. We have the amazing 2024 Glencairn glass, one gallon of honey from sponsor Flying Bee Ranch, and more to be announced soon!
Category Winners
We have our blue, red, and white ribbons for category winners. Each ribbon features Herbert, our mascot, and is emblazoned with the year and place (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).
Brewtuber’s Choice
We have AMAZING belt buckles for our Brewtubers’ Choice winners! Yes, that’s right: custom belt buckles for the three favorite meads chosen by Man Made Mead, Doin’ the Most, and FaeWood Mead!
Rookie of the Year
New this year is our Rookie of the Year award – including a gallon of honey from sponsor Flying Bee Ranch and a beautiful laser-etched wine board. Eligibility for this award will be drawn only from FIRST TIME entrants to Mead Stampede (with a couple other guidelines to ensure a fair shake for new competition participants)! So, if you’ve never entered before, now’s a great time to start.
The competition committee reserves the right to combine overall style categories based on number of entries, in which case ribbons will be awarded based on placement within the combined category. All possible effort will be made to combine similar styles. All brews in combined categories will be judged according to the style they were originally entered in.
Completed score sheets will be scanned and emailed to the participants one the results have been announced.
Judging will be done based on the official Mead Stampede Score sheet.
